LEE WORDEN
Gordon Lee Worden is a multi-instrumentalist / singer with over 4 decades of professional touring and studio experience. Equally at home on guitars, bass, keyboards or drums he can also double on percussion and a variety of stringed instruments.
Lee has a large vocal range and an easy blend for harmony singing. He knows hundreds of songs off-book, can read well and loves to play in a variety of styles and situations.
He earned a Diploma of Jazz at Vancouver Island University in 1989. From 2008-2019 Lee toured and recorded as the lead guitarist for the legendary Ian Tyson. He resided in Nashville, TN from 2014-2021, playing countless shows in the honky-tonks of lower Broadway and the finest stages and convention centers in the southern US.
Lee is a former member of Nick Gilder and Sweeney Todd, and has performed many shows as a sideman with Sue Medley, Mike Reno, Corb Lund, Ryan McMahon, Tom Russell, Fernando Verela, Kim Wilson and Bobby Rush.
He’s appeared on recordings by Crusoe, The Travelling Mabels, Babe Gurr, Aaron Pritchette and Ian Tyson. Numerous TV appearances on CBC and CTV. Lee fronted “The Great Wide Open” with Mike Norman and Chris Aiken in 1998 and is one third of The Gords (www.thegords.com), alongside Gord Matthews (kd lang, Ian Tyson) and Gord Maxwell (One Horse Blue, Ian Tyson). He’s performed extensively in Europe and Asia, including five weeks in Beijing during their summer Olympics. He spent 2017-18 on the road playing the blues with The Andy T. Band featuring Anson Funderburgh and Alabama Mike.
Now living on Vancouver Island, Lee is happy to be playing regularly as a sideman with numerous western Canadian projects.
