Dr. Mehmet Baturay Yarkın is a jazz and tango pianist, composer, arranger, and lecturer with 26 years of experience. Originally from Istanbul, he started his journey at Istanbul University State Conservatory at age 7, graduating in 2010, completing his master's thesis, and earning a doctorate in jazz. 

 

He performed at prestigious jazz and world music festivals worldwide, including the USA, England, China, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Albania, Montenegro, Kazakhstan and Croatia. From 2018 to 2024, he taught in the jazz department at Istanbul University State Conservatory. He released eight personal albums and contributed to many others. 

 

Now based in Vancouver, he's an active musician with an open work permit until January 2026. He's looking for opportunities to share my expertise and passion for music.
